I am the oldest child in the family so I have grown up with younger siblings and cousins. I want to care for these children whose parents were not able to take care of them. I want to give them love and be there to comfort them until court is over for that child. Children are very special to my heart.

The National Honor Society, because of its service-oriented philosophy, offers an effective path to exercise my willingness and interest in being of service to others. Becoming an NHS member recognizes my scholastic achievements but, just as important, it gives me the opportunity to continue expanding my leadership skills, strengthening my character for future challenges; all while simultaneously being of service to my community and my school.
With that, I always make sure that I excel in all my classes and join organizations that will benefit me in the long run. Knowing that being a possible member of the National Honor Society will highlight my academics, leadership, character, and service, I believe that NHS will also give me the opportunity to shape myself and continue going in the direction of a successful future.
Primarily, my background has pushed me to work well and take on the rigorous challenge of applying for NHS. Living in a small province in the Philippines, it was very difficult for my family to gain an education. I make every attempt I can to spend time with my cousins, even though we all have crazy schedules. I have weekly hang-out times with my friend of nearly 14 years.
I chose to come to UAH to be closer to my family, since my parents and I moved north when I was young. All of these habits that I partake in are because I find comfort, and therefore happiness, in being around these people. When he made the decision to pursue post secondary education, we were thrilled. We knew that, to the extent that we were financially able, we would help him with tuition. Throughout the past few years, I have worked to become the best leader possible in hopes of enacting positive change.
